5. Omura’s Whale:



The Vanishing Giant: Up until 2015, Omura’s whale, also known as the dwarf fin whale, remained an enigma. Not a single specimen had been found, and it was even misclassified as a different whale species until 2003. With limited information available, scientists estimate that these relatively small whales (compared to others) can grow up to almost 38 feet in length. The fact that such a sizable creature managed to elude detection for so long is truly astonishing.
