Toggle6. Deinosuchus: The Terrible Crocodile

Deinosuchus, an ancient crocodile from the late Cretaceous period, was called “The Terrible Crocodile” because of its impressive size and strength. This top predator could reach lengths of up to 39 feet and had a powerful bite that could bring down dinosaurs.
Just the idea of coming face to face with a crocodile that could overpower such massive creatures highlights how awe-inspiring Deinosuchus was. Thankfully, this fearsome predator exists only in the past, reminding us of the incredible diversity and fierceness that once existed in prehistoric ecosystems.
